What are Beagles?
Beagles are a smallish dog breed that probably originated in Greece and were later brought to England around the time of Queen Elizabeth. Originally they were small hounds, commonly known as Pocket Beagles, but over the last two centuries that breed has gotten larger. Today they are found throughout the world but are quite popular in the United States and Great Britain. Most beagles are tri color, but there are usually differences between the coats of Beagles in the US compared to Europe. Beagles are excellent small game hunters and were originally used for fox hunting. Today they are known as great family pets and are especially good with children. Their high energy though makes them a challenge to keep in enclosed areas such as apartments. A healthy Beagle needs plenty of excerise. Read more >
What is the Beagle Dance?
The Beagle Dance is the wild, crazy dance that beagles do when they are happy or excited. There are a few situations that may result in spontaneous Beagle danceage:
(A) You are feeding your beagle and he dances for joy around in circles
(B) You bathe your Beagle and after you dry him off, he zooms around the house in a frenzy rubbing against anything and bouncing off the furniture
(C) You have more than one Beagle and they go berserk every time they decide to play
